Sideboards and Credenzas – storage and display

Sideboards are the go-to for living rooms and dining rooms as they offer great storage solutions with display on top.  In particular this stylish model, the Ikebana from Mogg designed by Uto Balmoral. It has been designed with display in mind. The Ikebana has an integral metal plant stand on one side with a smaller, single one on top.   It comes in two heights, the low one shown here, or a taller version. People often ask what the difference is between a sideboard and a credenza. A sideboard tends to be bigger with high legs and dresser like drawers. Credenzas are lower, usually a simple shape and cabinet-style, sliding doors. Sideboards could also be used in a hallway, so it’s another storage solution for all around the home.

 

Working from home

Dual purpose furniture

Elegant storage beds

Designed by Arik Levy, the Honey storage bed from Molteni&C  has slim proportions, so it’s the ideal choice for smaller rooms. The bed has an upholstered base and pillow-back style headboard available in fabric or leather. Tailoring details gives this design a edge. The lift-up base works in two ways, with a swing mechanism for easy access or as a horizontal lift. Both giving easy access to the storage beneath, where you can put spare bedding, cushions and throws, or towels.  It comes in super king size. The bed base slats are included in the price and are made as standard in one large piece. However, if space is tight, the slats can be split. The bed is also available as as a standard bed.
