Deliveries & Lead Times
Most of our suppliers are still in production and continuing to work tirelessly on your orders. If you have recently placed an order with us we will endeavour to keep you updated on progress. However, due to the current situation and World Health Organisation guidelines/UK Government advice, we anticipate a delay of 3-4 weeks on all orders that were due to arrive in the UK around this time.
New orders are still being taken and we would hope that delays to these deliveries will not be as long as factories return to normal.
We do, of course, offer free storage on any orders until you are happy to receive them.
Our delivery service is a very personal one, usually involving a white-glove, two man team, as many pieces are heavy/bulky. The welfare of both our customers and delivery teams are of utmost importance to us, as well as the need to abide by the relevant authorities advice. We hope you will bear with us during these difficult times and we offer many thanks for your patience and understanding.
UK DELIVERIES UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES
Under normal circumstances we deliver throughout the entire UK and our delivery teams are always white glove, two man deliveries made in two hour time slots (London) or three hour time slots (the rest of the UK). Our UK delivery teams will always contact you before arranging any delivery and deliveries are normally during the week between 9am to 5pm - though they try to be as flexible as possible and can occasionally work outside these times.
Our UK delivery prices include delivery to the room of your choice, as well as any assembly required, unpacking and removal of packaging - although please check your order carefully before our delivery team leave as in the unlikely event of a problem we may need to return an item to the factory and will need the original packaging to do so.
We also carry out complicated installations for wardrobes, wall units, bookcases, home offices, children's bedrooms and other fitted furniture (we’re proud to say that our installation team is one of the best in the country) but they are sometimes location limited so please discuss with us before ordering.
Channel Islands, Ireland & International Deliveries
We also deliver to the Channel Islands, Northern and Ireland, Ireland and mainland Europe. In fact we have delivered to over 70 countries and we can issue VAT free invoices where appropriate. We also often deliver to shippers in the UK for onward shipment worldwide via the customers own arrangements. International deliveries (including the Channel Islands) need to be discussed with us. We can also deliver to the US, but please be aware that local taxes and handling charges (usually more than the value of the product) usually make it prohibitively expensive to do so.
Almost everything we sell is made to order, to your specifications, so we don't hold stock - lead times range from just a few weeks (for some garden furniture) to 10-12 weeks. This enables us to offer excellent value for money (no stock holding costs), along with an unrivalled choice of products in a fantastic choice of finishes.
Please note that our European suppliers close completely for all of August, as well as over Christmas and Easter, which will add extra days/weeks to our lead times.
As everything we sell is made-to-order most of our sales are not governed by the Distance Selling Regulations, so as well as contacting us before ordering to check everything is as it should be please read the Go Modern Terms & Conditions before placing an order. Cancellations can be made within the first few days after ordering, but after that unfortunately we need to charge a 40% re-stocking fee as we will generally have no way or re-selling your order to anyone else.
