German luxury lighting brand Occhio combines refined contemporary design with some of the most advanced lighting technology available. The Mito sospeso pendant is one of the standout designs. Light is directed both upwards and downwards, helping to illuminate the room as well as the surface below. On selected models, the balance between the two can be adjusted, so the same light can move from bright, practical illumination to something softer and more atmospheric.

Mito also includes some of Occhio’s most useful technology, including gesture control, adjustable colour temperature and integration with Occhio air. This gives you far more control over the mood of a room without compromising the simplicity of the design.

One of Mito’s most useful features is Magic Move. On the Mito variable height light, the pendant can be raised or lowered simply with a hand gesture, so you can bring the light closer when you need brighter, more focused illumination — for example when cooking at a kitchen worktop — then move it higher again for a more open, relaxed feel. Several other Occhio lights offer the same height-adjustable function, including Luna & Senso variable lights..

Touchless controls also allow you to switch, dim and change the colour temperature, while selected models let you adjust the balance between uplight and downlight. The same light can therefore move very quickly from practical task lighting to something much softer and more atmospheric.

Gioia: A Joyful Dance of Form and Function

Gioia is a collection of highly adjustable floor and table lamps, including the two floor lamps and two table lamp versions. We have one of the table lamps on display in our London showroom.

What really sets Gioia apart is the movement. The lamp head can be raised, lowered, rotated and repositioned with an exceptionally smooth mechanism, giving it far more freedom than a conventional reading or task light.

Unusually, there is no internal wiring running through the arm. This means there is nothing inside to twist, tangle or restrict the movement, and the result is an incredibly fluid, precise adjustment that is much easier to appreciate in person than in photographs.

The ring-shaped head provides both upward and downward light, and selected models can also switch between a broad, diffused light and a more focused beam. This makes Gioia equally useful for reading, working or creating softer ambient light beside a sofa or bed.

Control is just as intuitive. Touchless hand gestures can be used to switch, dim and adjust the light, while the colour temperature can be changed from a warm evening tone to a clearer, cooler white. The same functions can also be controlled through the Occhio air app.
