That’s sometimes two or three days at home and vice versa in the office.  And according to the Office for National Statistics, it looks like a set up that’s here to stay. It’s because remote working is now looking like a permanent fixture that many people are taking the opportunity to create a stylish work space.  One that integrates fully within their home environment.  A customised desk or home office is, therefore, the way to go.

The Reverse Home Office 08 consists of a simple wall unit featuring glass and lacquered partitions. This in turn supports a simple, streamline desk.

Another example (one of many from Novamobili) is the Home Office GD-169.  The GD-169 composition has the same simple desk design.  To this has been added drop-down doors, pull out drawers, open units and shelves. Sleek Luxury

If you’re looking for sleek luxury, here it is. The Pianca Spazioteca composition.

It’s a bookcase, media centre and home office rolled into one.  Every inch of space has been used cleverly. The stylish desk area, for instance, has been integrated carefully. Similarly, the TV unit sits flush within the shelves.  It’s harmonious and balanced.

Spazioteca is a unique system.  That’s because of its modular design including side panels, shelves, back panels and dividers.  These can be customised at 1cm intervals as standard.  The compartments also have no visible holes or hardware.

The People System has hundreds of elements to choose from. Distinctive details here for example include an absence of handles. You can also add accent details, such as backlit glass shelves, leather finishes on drawers or back panels in marble.

Close the Door

The commute is great.  Closing the office door at home, however, not so great.  Porada, therefore, has come up with a terrific modern solution.

Their stylish Savio Working Station Home Office is the answer to how to close the door at the end of a working day. It’s a stand-alone work station in Porada’s beautiful canaletta walnut with natural maple inserts. It’s also a very neat size, measuring 201cm wide x 56cm deep x 150cm high. Within this compact space, however, is packed a heck of a lot.

The fold down desk is covered in leather. Alongside this are storage areas, shelving units and leather covered storage ‘wallets’. There’s a dimmable LED light over the desk, plus one Schuko and two USB pop-out plugs.

Importantly, it also looks as good closed as it does open.

As with so much of Porada’s design it is a beautifully crafted piece. The designer, David Dolcini, especially deserves a shout out here. Dolcini has managed to create a stand alone piece that is clever, stylish and sensitive to our working/home lives. Bravo.
