At Go Modern we’re lucky enough to have a small outdoor first floor terrace, which is perfect for showing off our garden furniture.  We leave it out all year round to demonstrate just how well it performs as, whatever the British weather throws at it, it still looks good.

Joining our other  high-end outdoor brands this summer is luxury, Belgian manufacturer Tribù. We spotted the family run company at a show in Paris last year and we were blown away by their designs. The look and quality of what they produce is fabulous, and their internationally renowned reputation means that they supply not just domestic customers but high-end, stylish locations around the world.

One of their recent projects (and for those of you lucky enough to have been you’ll know) is the Hard Rock Hotel in Ibiza.  It’s a five star hotel combining Mediterranean style with the ‘electric energy’ the world famous brand is known for.  You’ll see Tribù’s distinctive designs around its pools and outdoor restaurants, including the Beachclub (below), next to beautiful white sands and a turquoise blue ocean… we’ll stop there…

Tribù doesn’t just create incredible, distinctive, good looking outdoor furniture.  Look behind their designs and you’ll find some fearsome technology.  It’s kind of alchemy meets design meets – outdoor fun!  Look at the product technical specs for each range and you’ll find phrases such as ‘die-cast aluminium, combined with polypropylene, reinforced with fiberglass’ or ‘ foam mousse encased in a seamless sheath of knitted textilene and polyolefin’.  It may sound like something from Heston’s Blumethal’s latest menu, but as far as outdoor furniture goes this is the furniture equivalent of a Michelin three stars rating.

The stunning Tosca sofa (above) is one of the company’s 2015 star pieces.  It’s part of the larger Tosca collection of sofas, armchairs, dining chairs, sun loungers and accessories, all of which feature a very unique braided fabric. Designer Monica Armani created the look for Tribù and it’s become a classic.  The extra-wide braiding is completely weatherproof and beautifully soft to the touch, just like an indoor sofa, and wraps snugly around the durable powder-coated stainless steel frame.

Also brand new from Tribù for summer 2015 is Branch, a beautifully organic design created by Altherr Lievore Molina, a highly creative, talented design team comprising Alberto Lievore, Manel Molina and Jeannette Altherr, and based in Barcelona.

The inspiration for the look of the collection came from… branches, with the design team wanting the range to ‘blend with nature’, which fits perfectly with Tribù’s philosophy: our outdoor space is always part of our home. The materials used have extremely high-resistance to outdoor elements and are UV and scratch resistant. Colours offered include white, linen and wenge.

Designed by Andrei Munteanu Tribù’s Pure range is a stunning modular design; sophisticated, elegant and luxurious but with a simplicity that gives the design it’s wonderful, contemporary look. The strong, squared frame is made from A-grade teak, sourced from sustainable East Javanese plantations. Teak is an ideal wood for outdoor furniture as it contains high levels of oil and natural rubbers, and it’s known for its strength, durability and weather resistance.

For over 21 years Tribù has been pioneering the philosophy that the terrace or garden should be seen as an extension of the house, and their passion has always been to create stunning outdoor furniture.  We think they’ve done that… and some.

So, if your holiday plans don’t include a trip to Ibiza this year… why not create your own bit of ‘hard rock’ outdoor style at home. The Met office keeps promising us a heat-wave… and we know we’ve all been there on that one before.  But even if the promised rays don’t come our way, 21st century outdoor furniture design means that you can now party outdoors whatever the weather, and still have a good time, with or without the promised sun!
