The Molteni & C D.847.1 desk was originally conceived in 1947 by Giovanni Ponti, the great Twentieth century architect and designer as part of his "bedroom for a bachelor".

Now, more than 70 years later, the desk is reborn based on the original drawings from the Gio Ponti Archives thanks to the Heritage Collection reissue project by brand Molteni&C.

As with all the projects in the Heritage Collection, a careful study of the drawings, photos and period materials has made it possible to faithfully reproduce the D.847.1 desk in all its details, bringing to light a masterpiece, inspired by the high level of craftsmanship in solid wood processing.

Featuring a useful drawer this versatile desk or console table is made from beautiful honey-stained solid ash wood with feet in satin brass.

Every piece in the Gio Ponti Heritage collection which includes dining tables, sideboards and shelving units carries a serial number and complies with the design and materials in the original Gio Ponti documents. A screen-printed signature of the famous architect is a further guarantee of its origin and authenticity.

Frame and drawer in honey-stained solid ash wood, with honey-stained ash veneer table top. The feet are in satin brass with tips in non-slip plastic.

We deliver throughout the entire UK & our delivery teams are always white glove, two man deliveries made in two or three hour time slots. Our delivery teams will contact you before finalising a delivery slot, & will offer you an alternative date if needed.

Delivery is to the room of your choice, & includes assembly, unpacking & removal of packaging - although please check your order carefully before our delivery team leave as in the unlikely event of a problem we may need to return an item to the factory & will need the original packaging to do so.
