The Porada Goban rug is made from a combination of New Zealand wool & Tencel Lyocell, two natural, soft-touch yarns that make the rug look elegant and sophisticated.
Available in six sizes in warm white, each rug offers a stunning interplay of geometric patterns & rhythmic structures with the design having a distinctive chequered look, an idea also reflected in the name as Goban is the Japanese chessboard used for the game of Go.
The pattern features variable height yarns, a 12mm high reticular weave combined with 45mm high woven squares, creating elevated areas of visual depth & texture. In terms of materials, the New Zealand wool fibres are coated with a natural Lanolin underlayer that prevents water & stains from immediately penetrating the rug. Complementing it, Tencel Lyocell is an antibacterial material derived from cellulose extracted from eucalyptus wood, with a silky, bright look that gives Goban a touch of brightness.
