The Porta Volta low chair marks a new chapter of collaboration between the historic Italian designer furniture brand Molteni&C and a renowned international architectural firm, long-term partners of the Molteni Group. Resulting from unparalleled attention to detail and exceptional materials, this luxury designer chair is a sophisticated addition to any room.

The aim was a chair with an armrest that is comfortable, welcoming and commodious: "Like a room to sit down in - rather than just sitting down on something."

This low chair is the ideal height for a low level lounge dining table, or for placing next to a sofa or armchair for comfortable conversation. It has a deep upholstered seat and a solid wood back. The floating backrest extends around the perimeter of the seat in a U-shape, reaching forward to create the armrests, and rests on 3 intersecting wooden U-frames with a special curved bent "finger joint" detail at their rounded corners.

The legs and the support for the back are angled slightly outwards, giving a sense of stability and generosity while adding extra comfort. Available in high-quality solid American walnut, or solid ash stained in eucalyptus, black oak, sunrise oak or graphite oak. The thick padded seat, carefully rendered for the utmost comfort, is available in a wide range of fabrics and leathers as well as a Mohair velvet, an exclusive fabric collection of 4 custom-made colours.

A standout feature of Porta Volta is the option of a padded backrest, a rectangular cushion that attaches onto the wooden beam, also available in a range of fabrics and leathers, so the chair can be customised to suit a multitude of interior concepts.

Available with either a solid ash wood frame stained in eucalyptus, graphite oak, black oak or sunrise oak, or in solid American walnut.

Chair covers in fabric or leather from the Molteni & C collection, or in customer’s own fabric, subject to approval of fabric type by Molteni. Samples of all Molteni's fabrics and leathers are available to see at our showroom, or we can send specific fabric samples to you on request.

Delivery is to the room of your choice, & includes assembly, unpacking & removal of packaging - although please check your order carefully before our delivery team leave as in the unlikely event of a problem we may need to return an item to the factory & will need the original packaging to do so.
