The Molteni&C Paula armchair by Vincent Van Duysen takes its inspiration from modernist furniture pieces like the Barcelona chair by Mies Van Der Rohe. Paula is a visually striking chair that is both modern and elegant; a beautifully crafted piece of furniture that combines contemporary design with luxurious comfort.

By paying close attention to the details and proportions of the chair Vincent has been able to create a decisive silhouette which is balanced by the lightness of the metal structure and the ingenious system of leather straps used to attach the seat and backrest cushions.  

The key to Paula’s timeless appeal lies in its carefully developed proportions. With its cantilevered frame and suspended cushions, the Paula armchair has been designed to create a synthesis between the soft and inviting seat and the solid and robust structure of the base.

The cushion covers can be selected in a wide range of fabrics or leathers, whilst the hide leather straps which provide a warm contrast to the burnished, or sanded metal frame are available in four shades - natural, tobacco, hazelnut, and mud green.

For extra comfort you can also add the matching Paula footstool which can be seen in the related products and which has a similar style of base and a cushion attached with the same system of looping leather straps.
