The Molteni & C D.154.2 armchair is part of the Gio Ponti collection, an exciting project from Italian brand Molteni & C to re-issue furniture created by Giovanni Ponti, the great Twentieth century architect and designer.
In 2016 the D.154.2 "love chair" won the prestigious Wallpaper Design Awards and became a Molteni&C icon.
Originally designed for one of the projects closest to Gio Ponti’s heart, the villa of the Planchart collectors in Caracas (1953-57). Today this Italian design enveloping back armchair has a rigid polyurethane frame, a soft polyurethane counter-frame and a comfortable seat cushion. Legs are in chromed steel with feet ends in non-slip plastic.
For the upholstery you can choose from the huge variety of fabrics and leathers in the Molteni&C textile range, or you can also provide your own fabric, subject to approval by Molteni. There are two cover options, you can either select the interior and exterior in the same category and the same colour, or you can choose an exterior leather cover with an interior fabric cover.
If you would like more information on the Molteni & C fabric collection, please contact our design team who can send out samples and discuss all the options with you in more detail.
Every piece in the Gio Ponti collection complies with the design and materials in the original Gio Ponti documents and each piece in the collection carries a serial number and a screen-printed signature of the famous architect as a guarantee of its origin and authenticity.
