New for 2020, the Pelleossa dining chair now features a seat covered in straw rushes derived from the canna indica plant.
Handmade in Italy by master craftsmen, the weaving process is particularly complex and demands a combination of strength and absolute precision. A checkered weave pattern is the strongest way to rush a seat because it distributes the weight evenly across the surface creating an extremely durable and hard-wearing seat.
Designed by Francesco Faccin for Miniforms the Pelleossa dining chair has a slender frame with a gently curving backrest. Inspired by the Italian chairs of pre-industrial times, Pelleossa is built with traditional materials and a unique technology, the lathe. The name pelleossa (pelle - skin and ossa - bones) evokes simplicity and lightness.
Available with or without arms, the solid wood frame can be selected in oak, or black or stained walnut aniline. There is a leather or fabric version of the Pellossa chair, as well as a stool - see related products.
