The Glas Italia Boxinbox coffee table by Philippe Starck is part of a sophisticated series of low tables, storage units, and functional design objects characterised by a distinctive “box within a box” concept. Each piece is crafted from 5+5mm laminated extralight glass, thermo-welded at 45° angles for perfect transparency and seamless construction.
Available in six sizes, these transparent boxes rest on a reflective polished stainless steel base, creating an elegant interplay of light, shadow, and reflection. Within the outer glass shell, a second inner storage element is inserted with either a single shelf or multiple shelves depending on the size selected, made from transparent coloured glass available in a range of colours which offers a refined contrast and layered spatial depth.
The collection also includes a low storage table 93cm wide featuring six laminated glass shelves, built with the same 5+5mm thermo-welded technique and mounted on a reflective base, harmonising with the rest of the collection’s visual language.
To complete the ensemble, functional storage cases in zebrano wood with traditional dovetail joints introduce a tactile and natural material counterpoint to the glass and steel elements.
