The Bonaldo Doge armchair with a covered base is a luxury Italian upholstered armchair from a family of chairs inspired by the figure of the Doge, who led the Venetian La Serenissima Republic.

Its wraparound flaps, starting from the armrest, echo the Doge's headgear and give the chair real presence, while the 1970s-inspired shape feels fresh and modern.

Available in three versions, the one shown here has an upholstered fixed or swivel base. There is also one which has a solid wood four-legged base in striking coal ash or American walnut and one with a central four-legged metal base with a swivel mechanism in a range of colours or metallic finishes; these two are listed separately and can be seen in the related products.

There are lots of different choices for the upholstery: Bonaldo offer a huge range of fabrics and leathers with several categories of each and in a fantastic selection of colours. It is also possible to supply your own material, subject to approval, and we supply it with UK fire-retardant foam and fabric. Samples are available to view in our showroom and some fabric samples can be posted to you.

Colours & Finishes

Bonaldo armchairs are available in a huge choice of fabrics, ecoleathers and leathers; including nubuk leather. Alternatively you can use your own fabric - subject to it's suitability for the design. We can also offer fabrics from Romo, or Missoni Home. The metal base is in black.

All finishes are shown in the PDF, but please note that not all fabrics are available for all armchairs.

We have samples of fabrics and lacquers at our showroom for you to come in to view or we can send specific fabric samples to you on request.

All upholstery conforms strictly to UK fire safety regulations, for overseas orders please speak to a member of our team.

We deliver throughout the entire UK & our delivery teams are always white glove, two man deliveries made in two or three hour time slots. Our delivery teams will contact you before finalising a delivery slot, & will offer you an alternative date if needed.

Delivery is to the room of your choice, & includes any assembly required, unpacking & removal of packaging - although please check your order carefully before our delivery team leave as in the unlikely event of a problem we may need to return an item to the factory & will need the original packaging to do so.
