Sun Smitten Grass by Tessa Shaw

Sun Smitten Grass, 2015 is a piece by Tessa Shaw and is part of our new collection of modern art. This piece is an original one off.

The dimensions are so impressive, at over 5 ft tall, Sun Smitten Grass will be a feature in any contemporary space. It comes perfectly frames in a beautiful, simple whitewash box frame which helps to define and enhance the print.

It is made using the cyanotype photographic process, which is the classic way of taking photographs. This gives it an incredible depth of cyan blue tones that along with the lighter ethereal shapes, reflects light in a textured way.

Tessa’s ethereal and atmospheric artworks, created using the early photographic technique of cyanotype, arise from a desire to preserve that which cannot be saved; the feeling of sun on your face, of leaves crackling underfoot, and of cold wind on bare arms.

Her practice developed whilst studying the early photographic image makers, whose techniques present imperfections that capture the unknown possibilities of the photographic moment, and the mystery of process.

Sun Smitten Grass is signed and titled by the artist, Tessa Shaw on its reverse side. It is hanging in our showroom at the moment, so is ready for immediate viewing and delivery.
