Terms & Conditions

The following terms and conditions apply to all orders placed on the Go Modern website, in the showroom, or by telephone; placing your order this way indicates your acceptance of these terms and conditions. Please read them carefully and print a copy for your records.

  1. General
    These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights. To order goods through the Go Modern Ltd website you must be at least 18 years of age and accept delivery within the UK. We will treat each order for goods as an offer by you to purchase the goods subject to these terms and conditions.
  2. Warranty
    All products supplied are covered by the terms and conditions of the Manufacturers Guarantee for a period of 12 months. Should your purchased item develop a manufacturers fault within twelve months of your date of purchase we shall either replace or repair it as we deem most appropriate. This guarantee specifically excludes faults caused by accident, neglect, misuse and general wear and tear.
  3. Returns
    If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase (not including made to order items, please see below), simply return the item(s) to us in it's original condition by giving us written notice (fax, letter or email) within 7 days of receiving your delivery*. It is your responsibility to return the item to us, however we can arrange this for you on request, & will charge you the cost of the return.
    We will issue a full refund within 2 weeks of receiving the item back into our possession, or exchange the item for a different size / colour / or item of same value if preferred provided the following conditions are met;
    (A) All items must be returned unused and in a re-saleable, ‘as new’ condition to our warehouse or showroom;
    (B) They must be returned in their full original packaging;
    (C) Reasonable care must be taken by yourself to ensure the items are not damaged while in your possession or in transit;

    We reserve the right to reject returned item(s), or to deduct an amount to compensate for any repair, restocking or recovery costs if the above conditions are not met.
  4. Made to Order Items
    Items which are bespoke, or have had any customisation in size, colour, finish or composition are none refundable. This includes upholstered sofas, & sofa beds, upholstered beds, wardrobes, childrens bedroom compositions, home office compositions and wall units. An item has been ordered in a specific colour & produced by the manufacturer specifically for you is classified as a made to order item.
  5. Faulty Items
    We recommend that you inspect your goods as soon as they arrive. If the item you received has any transport damage or fault please notify us by writing (email to customerservice@gomodern.co.uk or a letter) within 3 days of receipt quoting your order reference number, your name and address, details of the product and fault, and we will contact you to arrange a resolution.
    We will require a photograph of any damage to assist in our resolution process. We will then advise on how to proceed with the return (if required).
    For products that were made to order we will usually need to order in a replacement (part) which may take up to 10 weeks, however you may be able to use the piece you have received until the replacement arrives. Please check with us first, however, as this is not always possible for technical reasons.
    If the product is a stock item and there is a problem we will make it right within 21 days of your receipt, provided we are notified within 3 days of receipt.
  6. Self Assembly
    For self assembly products it is important that you read the assembly instructions carefully as we cannot accept responsibility for any self-assembly goods that are damaged because instructions were not properly followed.
    Before assembling any self assembly furniture please ensure that all parts have been inspected and if there is any damage to the product do not commence any assembly and notify us of the situation.
    We reserve the right to reject return of items where assembly has been undertaken, or to deduct an amount to compensate for any repair, restocking or recovery costs.
 
  1. Cancellations
    You will own the goods once we have received your payment in full. We will issue you with an electronic invoice once we have confirmed the order with you. Failure by us to enforce any of these terms and conditions will not affect our right to enforce the rest of these terms and conditions. Full cancellation of an order is possible in the first 7 days after order, after that it is at our discretion as some parts of the order may have been specifically ordered for you, & after 7 days will have been put into production. A 40% return fee will be chargeable in these circumstances.
  2. Delivery Times
    If the goods are not held in stock you should allow up to 90 days for them to arrive at Go Modern before being dispatched to you. Payment is due on order of goods, unless specific arrangements for part payment are made, & in all cases full payment must be received before goods are dispatched.
  3. Availability of Goods
    All products and services are subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time. If we do not supply the goods for any reason we will not charge you for these and we will refund any money already paid for them. However, we will not be responsible for compensating you for any other losses suffered by you if we do not supply the goods.
  4. Delivery Access
    It is your responsibility to ensure that the furniture you order can be delivered into your property and that there is safe and reasonable access from the public highway to the place of delivery. If our delivery staff consider that the access is unsafe then we will not deliver the goods until safe access is provided. You are obliged to provide any required parking permits in advance of the delivery.
    If you have any doubts that the furniture will fit up stairways, through doors or any awkward or restrictive spaces it is vital that you seek advice. In particular, mattress slats are made as standard in one 200cm x 160cm or 180cm piece & do not fit through smaller access spaces. Please contact us on 020 7731 9540 if you have concerns, as we can arrange for slats to be split into two parts for an extra cost.

  5. Product Information
    We have collated the product specifications, images and other information published on our website from information provided by suppliers, manufacturers, publications, or gathered from public-domain sources. At Go Modern Ltd we endeavour to ensure this information is as accurate and up to date as possible however we cannot guarantee the reliability or the accuracy of the information contained within its pages. All actions taken by the user of the website are the responsibility of the individual.
  6. Payment and Price
    The total price payable for the goods will be stated at the time when you place your order and confirmed in our order acknowledgement. If the price published for the goods is wrong due to an error or omission Go Modern Ltd is not obliged to sell the product at the incorrect price. Instead we will inform you of the correct price and give you the opportunity to cancel the order. All prices on our website are inclusive of VAT but exclusive of delivery charges which will be payable as indicated at the time of placing your order.
  7. Delivery Charges
    All prices on our website are exclusive of delivery charges. We apply different delivery charges for items of a different size and weight. Our deliveries take place during the week, & we do not offer Saturday deliveries as a standard service. If a Saturday delivery is possible it will be offered at a surcharge, but deliveries on Saturday are at our discretion & are not part of our usual service. Prices are for delivery to Mainland UK addresses. Other UK delivery addresses, including Channel Islands & Scottish Islands will incur additional charges and may incur longer delivery times (e-mail us at info@gomodern.co.uk for a quotation and delivery time).
