We have finally managed to get around to adding the latest products to the website from Italian brand Bonaldo (shown at the Milan furniture fair). Highlights are –
– The Blues dining chair for just £110, which is just fantastic value, can be used outdoors, & comes in several lovely colours, including the ever popular dove grey.

Decorating your house may seem like a never ending task, just as you have completed all the rooms the first one seems in need of a little updating. Rather than starting all over again with the brushes and dust sheets, or going out and replacing everything for a new look, consider making just one or two small changes which can have a big impact. For many people, choosing the right furniture can be quite a challenge. Particularly when looking at contemporary furniture, the fear is that the functionality won’t be there – especially when getting to grips with sleek urban bedroom furniture or minimalist kitchens in a high-art showroom!
Many people will design their home around one, cohesive style or period. This might mean allegiance to a certain designer furniture producer – although this can create a ‘showroom’ effect if designer furniture isn’t mixed judiciously with other, unique items. It’s heavy!! I have several pieces from our collection in my home, the Unity dining table from Tonelli, & the Shine sideboard from Tema Home. They are both far too heavy to lift on my own, & I have had a dreadful job trying to move them around. I have bought other contemporary furniture in the past & it has been quite light, so it seems that the high quality of our furniture equals extra weight. If you arent using our assembly service you may need two or three strong people to lift/hold your new purchase! The Cierre Kafka sofa in our showroom needs 4 people to lift it, we have to get some of the guys from our London delivery company in when we want to move it!
We are having an open day/evening on Tuesday the 27th of September as part of the Creative Chelsea event & will be serving drinks & canapes from midday until 8pm, & you are welcome to join us!
Our CAD designers will be showing our guests what they can do, as well as what they have done. They have designed some fabulous wall units, wardrobes, bookcases & childrens bedrooms over the last year, & we are releasing a new collection of contract furniture too, from Europeo.
I love contemporary furniture, particularly contemporary furniture from Italy. But buying it is not the same as nipping to Ikea & picking something up, or going to your local retail park/high street to pick out a piece that will be delivered the following week, but is a serious style/colour compromise.
So here it is, our completely candid guide to buying contemporary furniture!
The current economy has hit hard and house prices are no exception. So many owners chose not to move, but to make the most of what they already have instead. This involves looking at their house and deciding what to change and up date with more contemporary furniture instead. Continue reading “Can’t afford to move?
