It kind of goes without saying doesn’t it (but we will): If our customers are happy – so are we! And we really love to get feedback… but then to receive photographs of furniture in its new home is the icing on the cake.
So we were delighted when clients from Sevenoaks in Kent contacted us to say how pleased they were with their recent purchases. So pleased that they wanted to share the results! So we thought we’d share them with you too… and we think you’ll agree the results are just fab. But, no more from us… here’s what they had to say (and we’ll sit here quietly blushing):
“We were looking for some statement pieces to use in our home, as we’d just undertaken a huge re-refurbishment. We’d waited many years for the moment when we could finally buy some beautiful furniture! We luckily came across Go Modern and were immediately struck by the stunning designs and large range of choice – many unique pieces caught our attention. Go Modern specialises in beautiful Italian wardrobes: fitted, freestanding, sliding doors, hinged doors or walk-in wardrobes… take your pick. Whatever you are looking for we are sure we will have something stylish to suit. In fact we have possibly the largest range of Italian wardrobes in the UK. Why choose an Italian wardrobe? Simply because of the endless choice of beautiful contemporary styles, in a huge number of finishes and colours.
But it can be a daunting process… if you let it! So here’s our mini-guide with some information about the different styles of wardrobes on offer:
FITTED WARDROBES Our fitted wardrobes are all made to order in Italy. Simply discuss your space with us and we will get as close a fit as possible from the hundreds of wardrobes sizes and options, which can then be cut to an even more precise fit and installed by our expert team of wardrobe fitters. If you’ve an awkward corner or a sloping roof we love that kind of ‘problem’…
Confession: At Go Modern quite a few of us LOVE clothes. And shoes. And handbags. Our trips to some of Europe’s capitals to meet with suppliers and discuss new designs are often punctuated with a (very) quick dash into the odd boutique (shhh – don’t tell anyone). And of course London Fashion Week starts next week – so as usual look out for some of the most exciting shows on the planet!!
But how to store it all is the question. Well, come talk to us because wardrobes are one of our specialities and, without blowing too much of a trumpet, we have probably the largest range of Italian made freestanding and fitted wardrobes in the UK. All of our wardrobes can be built from two doors wide to as many as you need… and most importantly they have a HUGE choice of internal storage options. Continue reading “Wardrobes and fashionistas”
It’s usually after the summer holidays and in the run up to Christmas, with thoughts of extra family and friends coming to stay, that (panicky) minds turn to decluttering (well… confessions from most of us on the team reveals this one!). So, in an attempt to make life a little less stressful we’ve pulled out a few of our latest designs to help put a little order into the chaos most of us surround ourselves with.
If it’s bigger changes you’re looking for then wall units will definitely provide a long-term solution. There are lots of different styles to choose from, all modular, which means you can create exactly the design you want.
Contemporary bedroom furniture in wood has been making a comeback for the last few years, as ever led by Italian brands like Bimax, Jesse Furniture & SMA Mobili. The trend we have noticed over the last two years or so is that bleached oaks & light oaks are out & white or coloured painted ash & oak are in. The colour of a lacquered ash/oak is a solid colour, but the texture of the wood grain is visible, which can seem a little softer than a normal lacquer, & can look slightly more interesting, especially with the current movement towards more organic, natural finishes. Bedside cabinets & chests of drawers in these finishes are versatile too – they look fantastic with upholstered beds, but could go with wood, lacquer & even metal too.
As we are London based we are well aware of the need to make the most of your space, & one of the best ways to do this is with a contemporary sofa bed. A room that would usually be kept as a guest room is often also used as a study, but many people in London don’t even have a spare room, which is where sofa beds really come into their own.
The problem with sofa beds has always been that they are not that comfortable either as a sofa or as a bed, with thin mattresses & cushions that don’t mask the fact that there is a metal mechanism just below them. They are usually available in a very limited number of styles, & getting one that sits off the ground on contemporary legs has been completely impossible. At Go Modern central we have always focused on wardrobes, & are convinced we have a cracking collection, featuring freestanding & fitted wardrobes from Italian brands Bimax, Jesse Furniture, Europeo, Blog, Tempo & SMA Mobili. We even have children’s wardrobes & walk in wardrobes, with an enormous choice of hinged & sliding door wardrobes in different finishes. To top it all off we have several in house wardrobe designers & one of the best teams of wardrobe fitters in the country.
But wardrobes aren’t seen as ‘exciting’ the way a new, cutting edge contemporary armchair is, & are often overlooked in a contemporary home, with people spending their budget on a beautiful dining table or stunning corner sofa. Houses sometimes have built in cupboards with hanging rails so why would you go to all the trouble of ripping perfectly decent cupboards out & putting a swanky new fitted wardrobe in? And if there are no wardrobes there why not just buy a beautiful French armoire or an inexpensive freestanding wardrobe? Here are some of the reasons why you should set aside some money for a lovely new wardrobe (from us, of course!).. Continue reading “Customised Wardrobes, 5 reasons why they are worth every penny”
