Widely known as Le Corbusier, he was actually born as Charles-Edouard Jeanneret in La Chaux-de-Fonds, a small town of Neuchatel canton in north-western Switzerland, in the Jura mountains, just four kilometers across the border from France.
As an architect, he was a pioneer in theoretical studies of modern design and was dedicated to providing better living conditions for the residents of crowded cities. His career spanned five decades, with iconic buildings constructed across central Europe, India, Russia, and North and South America.
In 1928 Le Corbusier said "long live the good taste manifested by choice, subtlety, proportion and harmony" what a befitting memorium for such a talented designer who clearly understood the principles he preached.
Go Modern sources Le Corbusier inspired furniture from Italy (the Chaise Longues & LC10 tables) or China (the LC2 sofas, LC6 tables, and chaise longues, the best of the Chinese, we wont compromise on quality). There are so many different Le Corbusier style products on the internet - which is why our photos are photos of OUR actual furniture, we offer a 7 day no quibble return policy (& don't charge for shipping), and we have them on display in our London showroom.
Our Italian chaise longues can be covered in a huge range of leather colours - or customised with your own fabric. Our Chinese versions come in a great range of colours, classic black, soft Ivory, crisp, pure white, dramatic fire engine red, a dark chocolate brown, cognac, and our new tan - a lovely, proper tan with no hint of orange. And all of our furniture is ALL leather, (no leather match), with proper welded frames.>
