Neglected for most of her career, Eileen Gray (1878-1976) is now regarded as one of the most important furniture designers and architects of the early 20th century and the most influential woman in those fields. Her work inspired both Modernism and Art Deco.
Designed in 1926 by Eileen for her first self designed house, a clifftop house near Monaco, this clinically chic table is a well known & loved classic icon. It was said to have been designed for her sister, who liked to eat breakfast in bed. The base slides under the bed and the adjustable height of the top provides a perfect fit over the top of the bed.
Please Note: This is an exceptionally high quality Italian version of the Eileen Gray table, unlike the vast majority on the market it is not made in China. We have seen & sold both, & there is a vast difference! The pictures are closeups of our actual table, & is the table you will be sent.
