Charles Eames, Jr (1907 - 1978) was an American designer, architect and filmmaker who, together with his wife Ray, is responsible for many iconic designs of the last century. Introduced in 1956 the leather Eames Lounge Chair is recognized as one of the most distinguished pieces of 20th century design & timelessly blends elegant, old-fashioned luxury and visionary modernism.
The Eames lounge chair & stool are usually available in black & chocolate brown or to order in ivory, ivory, cognac, red or tan leather. There are two leather grades, standard (a high quality Italian top grain leather), & full aniline (the smoothest & softest of all – and the hardest wearing).
