BARCELONA STOOL

Among the most elegant and imposing of the chairs designed by German designer Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (1886-1969) is the opulent Barcelona Chair and Stool. The Barcelona set was developed for the German Pavilion at the 1929 International Exhibition in Barcelona as part of Mies_ design commission. As the German Pavilion was to be the setting for the official opening ceremony, Mies decided upon a throne-like form for the chairs and modeled them on the sella curulis, an ancient stool used by Roman magistrates.

As you can see from our photos our version is made to the very highest standards, covered in beautiful Italian leather, with full leather cushions (no leather 'match' underneath!), hand stitched buttons, concealed zips and full leather straps. The legs and frame are the highest quality grade 304 polished steel. It complies with all UK fire regulations & has a 1 year manufacturer's guarantee. This stool is made in China.

Available in black, chocolate brown brown, cognac, red, ivory, tan or white leather. There are a choice of two leather grades, standard (a high quality Italian top grain leather), & full aniline (the highest quality Italian leather, smooth yet hardwearing)
